Run Java, JNLP and JAR applications on iPad using Virtual-Chrome
The iPad has made accessing the web easy and convenient, and mobile as ever. But as we all know, it doesn't solve all problems. The lack of Adobe Flash Apple's industry-leading tablet is old news, however another somewhat less-discussed major drawback to the iPad, iPad2 and iPad Mini: it does not support Java.
Virrtual Chrome sovles this problem: VirtualChrome is really running on a virtual server that *does* support Java.
Here are some video demos of running various Java apps on Virtual Chrome:
- Runescape on iPad (the most popular multi-player MMPORG game, requires Java JAR file to run)
- Etrade Pro Elite on iPad (stock trading application, requires JNLP to run)
- NetDania (stock and Forex charing and analysis tools, that run on Java applets)
